Odessa is gearing up for the launch of the summer vacation season. This year, the city plans to open twice as many beaches as last year.

This was announced by the head of the Odessa Regional Military Administration, Oleg Kiper, during a national telethon.

Last year, about 20 beaches were opened, and this season we plan to open around 48, — he noted.

According to the regional head, the city continues to enhance safety measures, especially in crowded areas. Currently, there are 2,660 shelters set up in Odessa.

Almost all crowded places in Odessa are equipped with shelters. The main issue is for people to actually use them, — Kiper emphasized.

He also commented on the situation in the ports and the operation of the grain corridor. According to Oleg Kiper, since the grain corridor started operating, about 5,000 vessels have entered and exited the ports of Odessa.

We have increased the volumes that were present before the full-scale invasion. Our ports currently handle more than half of the country's exports, — the regional head highlighted.

Kiper also discussed the situation with the only inclusive beach in Ukraine located in Odessa. He stated that despite certain disputes, the beach will definitely operate this season.

Yes, there have been some disputes, but the beach will be operational. If anything doesn't go as planned, we will assist them, — added the head of the OVA.

It is worth noting that Odessa is the only seaside resort in Ukraine where, amid the war, the possibility of vacationing on the beachfront is gradually being restored, with safe zones and shelters being established.
