The Mayor of Odesa, Gennadiy Trukhanov, met with Aliyev Ayaz Ali Ogly, a board member of the «Odesa Diaspora of Azerbaijanis «Birlik» organization.

During their meeting, the parties discussed the implementation of the project to create the Azerbaijani park at the 4th station of the Great Fountain, which has officially existed since 2013. Although initial landscaping projects were developed, their execution was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the ongoing war.

Currently, the Azerbaijani diaspora in Odesa, which consists of over 30,000 people, has presented a new park concept that includes not only the establishment of a recreational area but also a memorial for Azerbaijanis who lost their lives in the war. All work is planned to be funded by the diaspora.

«We will collaborate with our partners, as Odesa has a fine tradition of parks created by friends of our city», emphasized Gennadiy Trukhanov.

The park will be located near the Odesa racecourse and will cover an area of over 2 hectares.
