New Sculpture ‘Time’ Unveiled in Greek Park

A grand opening took place in Greek Park, Odessa, for a new sculpture named ‘Time’, created by the talented artist Mikhail Reva.

The sculpture depicts a heroic figure from Greek mythology holding a shattered amphora, symbolizing the fragility of life, the fleeting nature of time, and the value of our creations.

During the ceremony, Odessa’s mayor Gennady Trukhanov emphasized that Greek Park is more than just a space; it represents a philosophy of life born from the collaboration between the Greek community and the renowned sculptor.

“The Garden of Life is our symbol: we do not stop; we continue to create, even in the most challenging times,” said Trukhanov.

Consul General of Greece in Odessa, Mr. Christos Zacharopoulos, remarked that the history of Odessa and Greece is interconnected, and Greek Park embodies our unity today.

Honorary citizen of Odessa and philanthropist Panteleimon Bumburas emphasized that supporting the Armed Forces of Ukraine is a matter of honor for his family, but preserving culture and inspiring people is equally important.

“Art cannot win a war, but it can heal souls and convey to the world our love for life,” said the sculptor Mikhail Reva at the unveiling.

The first part of the ‘Garden of Life’ exhibition was introduced on June 5, 2021, when Mikhail Reva presented a trio of sculptures: ‘Birth of the Soul’, ‘Paradise Apple Tree’, and ‘Apple of Life’. The artist plans to create 13 sculptures, each representing a significant parable about spiritual growth and harmony with nature.
