In Odesa, an emergency break in a 1200 mm diameter water main has halted the operation of several pumping stations.
To reach the affected area and begin restoration work, nearly a day was spent constructing access roads for heavy machinery.
For work on large diameter mains, excavators weighing at least 18 tons are used, prompting specialists from «Infoksvodokanal» to create a special base of multiple layers of concrete slabs and sand. Over 150 tons of sand were utilized.
Currently, specialists have excavated a trench, reached the damage site, and commenced restoration efforts.
Due to the lack of centralized water supply, the delivery of technical water has been organized.
On June 13, tank trucks with technical water will be stationed from 07:00 at the following addresses:
Drinking water kiosks are operating from 6:00 AM.
According to preliminary estimates, restoration work is expected to continue until 10:00 PM.
