New Mural in Odessa: A Symbol of Patriotism

A new mural has emerged on the wall of the famous Arcadia beach in Odessa, depicting the legendary local figure of the "Duke" as a participant in the Ukrainian Resistance Movement against Russian aggression. This is the first artwork in the "Resistance Wall Paintings" series.

The mural was created by Ukrainian artist Sergey Brilov, who has transformed the iconic image of Duke de Richelieu into a symbol of contemporary resistance. In his hands, he wields an assault rifle and a Molotov cocktail, while a hood adds an air of mystery. His eyes blaze with a red fire — a fire of righteous anger and unquenchable memory.

This image serves as a reminder that Odessa is one of the cities leading the heroic resistance in the ongoing Russian-Ukrainian war.

In the coming days, the streets and buildings of Odessa may be adorned with bright patriotic murals symbolizing the resistance of Ukrainians against the Russian occupiers. These will be created by Ukrainian artists as part of the "Resistance Wall Paintings" project.
