In Odessa, the renovation of the fountain «Grotto with Pool» located in Istanbul Park has begun. This artificial grotto, established on the slopes of Primorsky Boulevard in the late 19th century, initially served as a drainage system that collected water from the nearby monument-fountain on Primorsky Boulevard. Over time, with the advancement of the water supply system, this function became obsolete, transforming the grotto into a park attraction. 

Following renovations in 2017, this monument was converted into a fountain, and its maintenance was handed over to the Municipal Enterprise «Service Center». 

In the seven years since the renovation, the grotto has been subject to environmental factors. Specifically, rain and snow runoff from Primorsky Boulevard has compromised the waterproofing layer of the fountain basin. 

The main tasks planned for the capital repairs include clearing the area of debris, managing stormwater runoff from the fountain perimeter, performing waterproofing work, and cladding the fountain basin. 

It is expected that all work will be completed by the end of October 2025.
