At the square in front of the Odessa City Council, a memorial event was held to remember the heroes who sacrificed their lives for our country in the war against Russia. 

Families of the fallen, veterans, residents, and guests gathered to pay their respects.

On the evening of August 23, hundreds of candles were lit in silence. Each candle represented a personal story of bravery and dedication. The flames formed a map of Ukraine, reminding everyone of the strength of our nation. 

«Each light from this evening's event tells the story of a person who fought for Ukraine. It is our moral duty to remember those who will never return home and to ensure that their sacrifices were not in vain,» emphasized Pavlo Vugelman, Deputy Mayor of Odessa.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to the NGO «Vyshyvankovy Festival» for organizing the event, to the Military Orchestra of the City Academy of Odessa, to the families of the fallen warriors, our military, and everyone who shared this moment of remembrance.
