On September 24, the Odesa City Council session approved new names for several streets:

• Chapayeva Street will now be called Vyacheslav Kyrylov Street (Peresyp District),
• Serednya Street will be renamed Oleksandr Sviash Street (Khadzhybei District).

Additionally, the park at the intersection of Fontanska Road and Lesia Ukrainka Avenue has been named “Lesia Ukrainka Park” (Primorsky District).

These renaming initiatives were recommended by the historical-toponymic commission of the Odesa City Council Executive Committee and went through an electronic public discussion process.

The relevant changes have been made to the Odesa City Council decision dated November 9, 2005, No. 4858-IV «On the Naming of Streets, Lanes, Avenues, Squares, Parks, Gardens, Bridges, and Other Structures Located in the Territory of the City of Odesa».
