Odesa is actively working on initiatives to enhance accessibility for all citizens. The Odesa City Council has approved the modernization of the «Otrada» beach.

On September 24, the council allocated 1 million UAH for the development of project documentation for the reconstruction of the municipal beach «Otrada» (between buoys No. 6-b and No. 6-v).

The project's main goal is to create a comfortable space for the recreation of people with limited mobility.

The reconstruction will include: the construction of an inclusive ramp for easy access to the beach; the installation of modular structures - administrative, sanitary, and inclusive restrooms; the creation of changing cabins, including inclusive ones; and the laying of decking 1.4 m wide leading to areas with sun loungers and other amenities.

A special focus will be on the development of adaptive rowing. The beach area will have storage facilities for sporting equipment (including kayaks), opening new opportunities for individuals with disabilities.

This project continues the efforts towards developing barrier-free environments, particularly in health and recreation areas. This year, an inclusive beach was reopened at the 11th station of the Great Fountain after reconstruction.
