Hearing Awareness Day in Odesa: Prevention and Detection of Issues

Last week, Odesa hosted a Hearing Awareness Day aimed at preventing and early detecting hearing issues among the population. The event was organized with the support of the local health department and the city's health center.

All interested adults and children had the opportunity to undergo free hearing examinations and receive consultations from specialists, with referrals for audiometry provided as needed.

During the event, 426 individuals were screened, including 251 children. The examinations revealed 116 cases of hearing disorders, with 64 cases identified in children.

66 individuals received referrals for audiometry due to identified hearing issues. ENT specialists provided consultations and recommendations to all patients.
Medical facilities in Odesa have acquired new equipment for diagnosing ear diseases. Physicians emphasize the importance of regular hearing checks – annually. Additionally, patients should consult a doctor if they experience sudden hearing loss.

Don't delay your visit to a doctor if:

  • you have ear pain or discharge;
  • you experience sudden hearing loss in one ear;
  • you are concerned about your child's hearing.
