Forum on Financial Resilience and Community Development in Lviv

On October 3-4, 2024, Lviv hosted the forum «Financial Resilience and Community Development» as part of the Ukrainian Resilience Week.

This event brought together representatives from local governments, Ukrainian and international banking institutions, as well as experts in local finance.

The forum «Financial Resilience and Community Development» «Let’s meet in Lviv under the umbrella of finance» featured: Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovyi; First Deputy Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Oleksandr Korniienko; Head of the Lviv Regional State Administration Maksym Kozytskyi; EU Delegation representative Asier Santillan; USAID «HOVERLA» Project Deputy Chief Mariyan Yukich; Deputy Minister of Finance Olga Zykova; Financial Director of Graz Municipality Johannes Mueller; local finance experts Valentina Tymoschuk and Natalia Koren; and advisor to the Association of Ukrainian Cities Oksana Prodan.

Odessa was represented by Acting Director of the Odessa City Council Finance Department Andriy Zarytskyi.

Participants discussed issues and sought solutions in the sphere of local finance to ensure financial resilience and economic development.

A study visit to the UNBROKEN National Rehabilitation Center, which provides comprehensive medical care to military personnel and civilians, was also part of the event.

Panel discussions addressed significant topics such as cooperation with international financial organizations for recovery, local tax administration, the roles of local financial authorities, banking collaboration with municipalities, and energy independence of communities.
