Funding for Shelters in Educational Institutions of Odesa Region

The government has approved funding for 60 projects aimed at establishing shelters in educational institutions, with 6 of them being implemented in the Odesa region.

The funds are primarily directed towards communities with high safety risks, where the presence of shelters is critically important.

The first shelters will be constructed in schools of the Kodym, Lyman, Mayaki (two facilities), Vygodyanska, and Kuyalnytska communities.

Project selection was conducted through the electronic platform DREAM, which will also facilitate monitoring of the entire construction and reporting process.

A working group from the Odesa Regional State Administration, led by First Deputy Head Oleksandr Kharlov, has provided support for applications from our region.

We are awaiting the approval of another 50 projects by the government, which have been endorsed by the Ministry of Education and Science commission. This includes additional funding for the construction of three bomb shelters in the Dobroslav, Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi, and Molohiv communities, as well as the inclusion of a shelter for a school in the Vylkivka community.

A safe educational environment is not only about comfort but also about ensuring protection for every child and educator. We continue to work towards having reliable shelters in all educational institutions of Odesa!
