New Grain Terminal Set to Open at

In 2026, a new terminal for grain handling is planned to be launched at the "Pivdenny" port, with an annual capacity of 5 million tons.

This is reported by Latifundist.com.

The "Epicenter" group along with the family of MP Anatoliy Urbansky intends to build a grain terminal at "Pivdenny" port. According to project specifications, the terminal's throughput will be 5 million tons per year, with a total storage capacity of 250 thousand tons.

In 2025, "Casablanca Shipping Limited" (Cyprus), founded by "Epicenter K", acquired 32.61% of "Promtekhinovatsiya" (Odesa). The remaining 16.48% belongs to Igor Urbansky, while 25.46% each is owned by Kateryna and Denys Urbansky.

According to last year's plans, "Promtekhinovatsiya" leases land parcels in the "Pivdenny" port area and near the local road T1606. The total area allocated for construction is approximately 32 hectares.

This area is sufficient for building a station for unloading goods from trains and trucks, after which the grain will be transported to silos via a dedicated gallery.

Plans also include the construction of a railway station with a capacity of up to 3 million tons per year, capable of processing up to five freight trains daily. The site for this station covers 10 hectares.

The unloading station for trains is designed to have a capacity of 2 thousand tons per hour, while the truck unloading station will handle 1 thousand tons per hour.

A conveyor gallery 1600 meters long and with a capacity of 1200 tons per hour will connect the unloading station to the main elevators. Grain will be stored in around 50 silos with a total capacity of 250 thousand tons, located on a site of 10 hectares.

The project also foresees the construction of a pier up to 350 meters long and 16 meters deep. Agricultural products will be unloaded using two cranes with a capacity of 1500 tons per hour. All equipment for unloading, transportation, storage, and handling of grain will belong to "Promtekhinovatsiya".

According to port officials familiar with the construction process, the project is progressing successfully. The terminal is scheduled to open in 2026, and despite technical challenges, construction is expected to be completed on time.

Several sources have indicated that the idea of building such a terminal represents a strong partnership between a large agricultural holding with its own grain and significant capital, and a family of businessmen with access to the maritime zone but without agricultural production.

The agricultural assets of Ukraine's largest non-food retailer, "Epicenter K", are consolidated under the "Epicenter Agro" network, which has been rapidly growing since 2015.

During this time, the holding has increased its land bank to 170 thousand hectares, elevator capacities to 2 million tons, and its own agricultural production to 1 million tons. This year, it has also initiated its own trading operation.
