A Night of Jazz: Celebrating Olena Shevchenko

On November 8, 2024, the International Cultural Center UNION hosted a special evening titled "A Night of Jazz: Celebrating Olena Shevchenko," honoring the renowned host of international jazz competitions and festivals.

For her years of dedicated service and significant contribution to cultural development, Olena Shevchenko was awarded a valuable gift from the Mayor of Odesa and a Certificate of Appreciation from the Department of Culture, International Cooperation, and European Integration of the Odesa City Council.

As a musicologist and lecturer at the K. Dankevich College of Arts, she is an expert in music history and jazz, and the founder of the VKO Jazz Club named after M. Holoshchapov, earning her the title of "Lady Jazz."

During the evening, her students and colleagues showcased captivating jazz performances, including young musicians from Artistic Schools No. 1, 3, and 4.

The creative night concluded with a traditional jam session that left the audience in awe.
