Culinary Heritage of Krynychne: A New Recipe Book

In the village of Krynychne in the Bolhrad region, work has begun on a new culinary book that compiles recipes from local housewives. Currently, the collection features 60 unique dishes that were once prepared by our grandmothers.

The initiators of the project, “Center for Enlightenment and Talent Development” in Krynychne, shared insights into the material gathering process for this culinary compilation.

The project coordinator, Sofia Kurteva, actively engages with local housewives, conducts meetings, edits recipes, and prepares them for publication.

So far, around 60 dishes have been collected from 20 villagers. The book will be divided into various thematic sections: traditional festive dishes, seasonal recipes, ritual dishes (such as St. George's Day, Easter, etc.), homemade preparations, baking, and desserts.

Soon, project participants will start photographing the cooking process. Meanwhile, work on editing texts, clarifying names, ingredients, and technological processes continues. There are also plans to involve new housewives to expand the recipe collection, as reported by the Center.
