Authorities have arrested a young man and charged him with criminal offenses.

Police special forces apprehended the 23-year-old suspect in the Khadjibey district while he was attempting to distribute drug caches. During the search, they found a packet containing a dangerous psychotropic substance, confirmed by an express test. Additionally, eight more wraps of similar content were seized from the locations he marked. All substances have been sent for examination. Police also recovered his mobile phone, which contained information pertinent to the investigation.

During the preliminary investigation, it was determined that the suspect received the illegal goods from an unidentified person he met online and distributed them through hidden locations.

“With sufficient evidence, we have charged the suspect under Part 2 of Article 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine for illegal acquisition and storage of particularly dangerous psychotropic substances with intent to distribute. This crime is punishable by imprisonment for up to 10 years with property confiscation,” said investigator Serhiy Zholonko.

The court has placed the suspect under house arrest. The channel of drug supply to the young man is being investigated.

The investigation continues under the supervision of the Malynivskyi District Prosecutor's Office of Odesa.
