Odesa Karate Athletes Shine at European Championship
Odesa athletes excelled at the European Karate Championship, winning five medals.
Authorities have seized hazardous items from illegal circulation, and the suspect has been formally charged. He faces significant prison time.
Officers from Police Department No. 2 in the Odessa District documented how a 33-year-old local man sold military ammunition twice to an acquaintance. Initially, he sold 50 rounds of firearms ammunition, and later three bodies of fragmentation hand grenades and their fuses.
With the involvement of explosives experts, the dangerous items were seized and sent for examination. Their classification as military ammunition was confirmed by experts.
Investigators detained the suspect and based on the collected evidence, charged him with the illegal acquisition, possession, storage, and sale of military ammunition without the required legal permission. This crime is classified under part 1 of article 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and is punishable by imprisonment for up to seven years.
The court has selected a preventive measure for the suspect in the form of detention with the possibility of bail set at 60,560 UAH, which he utilized.
Authorities will investigate the origin of the ammunition found with the suspect during the pre-trial investigation.
The investigation continues under the procedural guidance of the Primorsky District Prosecutor's Office in Odessa.
