Gruesome Murder in the Balt Community

Last October, a mutilated and burned body was discovered in a forest near a settlement in the Balt community. Authorities determined that two men, aged 62 and 29, were involved, having been drinking alcohol with the victim.

This was reported by the Odessa regional police.

During their drinking session, an argument broke out which escalated into a fight - guests against the host. The younger man held the homeowner while the older man stabbed him in the chest with a knife he carried, resulting in immediate death.

In an attempt to hide the crime and complicate the identification of the deceased, the perpetrators transported the body to a forest area, where they mutilated it, including decapitating it, and set it on fire. The younger offender was arrested at his home.

During the pre-trial investigation, the court ordered him to be held in custody without the right to bail.

The older man fled immediately after the crime and is currently hiding from law enforcement. His case has been separated into a different proceeding, and he is wanted.

The vehicle used by the suspects, communication devices, and other pertinent items have been seized and included as evidence after expert examinations.

The investigation against the 29-year-old, who has a prior conviction for property crimes, has been completed.

He is charged with murder committed in conspiracy with a group of individuals. The case has been forwarded to court.

The maximum penalty for this crime is life imprisonment.
