The offenders, aged 17 and 18, have been charged in relation to the assault on a 56-year-old man. They could face a lengthy prison sentence.

The incident occurred in April when the young men decided to follow a stranger and attacked him in a deserted area. After the victim fell, the assailants stole his mobile phone and other valuables. The total damage amounted to 2500 hryvnias.

The victim sought medical assistance, where doctors diagnosed him with a broken nose, along with multiple bruises and contusions.

The police quickly identified the attackers. They had intended to sell the stolen phone but did not get the chance. The stolen property was returned to its owner.

The court imposed house arrest on the suspects during the investigation.

According to investigator Oleksandr Radiev, one of the offenders has reached the age of criminal responsibility, so charges were brought against both for assault with the intention to steal, involving violence. The maximum penalty is 15 years in prison.

The indictment has been sent to court in accordance with Ukrainian law.
