Energy Support for Odesa
Odesa has received new generators as part of international assistance to enhance its energy infrastructure.
Ukrainian law enforcement has uncovered an extensive drug trafficking network operating across 15 regions. The operation resulted in the seizure of psychotropic substances, narcotics, and precursors valued at over 6 million UAH, preventing their distribution. Six members of the criminal group have been charged, facing up to 12 years in prison with asset confiscation.
According to the investigation, the criminals established strongholds in Odesa, Izmail, and Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi, where they manufactured and stored drugs. They sold their products nationwide, utilizing the Internet and delivery services.
The illegal enterprise generated millions in profits each month.
During the investigation, police documented numerous transactions by the suspects. More than 30 searches were conducted in properties used in Odesa and Dnipropetrovsk regions, leading to the seizure of dozens of kilograms of drugs, several tons of precursors, laboratory equipment, communication devices, and various assets. Four drug labs were shut down.
The total value of the seized drugs on the black market exceeds 6.35 million UAH. They have been sent for expert analysis.
The police have arrested the drug traffickers, with charges brought against six individuals for:
- Part 2, 3 of Article 307 (illegal production and sale of narcotic drugs) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine;
- Part 2, 3 of Article 311 (illegal production and sale of precursors) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The offenders face up to 12 years in prison with asset confiscation.
The pre-trial investigation continues, and based on its results, a final legal qualification will be determined.
The operation was carried out by the Department for Combating Drug Crime and other law enforcement agencies with the support of special units.
