A traffic accident occurred on May 16 at around 10 AM on the Odesa-Voznesensk-New Bug highway near the village of Dobroslav.
Law enforcement preliminary established that an 84-year-old driver of a «VAZ» failed to yield to a «Porsche» driven by a 40-year-old man while exiting a secondary road, resulting in a collision with this car and a «VOLKSWAGEN TRANSPORTER» being driven by a 49-year-old man, both of whom were on the main road.
The driver of the «VAZ» died in the ambulance on the way to the hospital, while his 40-year-old passenger was hospitalized. The drivers of the other two vehicles received medical assistance at a facility and were later released. Both men were tested for intoxication and were found to be sober.
The scene was attended by a patrol police response team and an investigative group from Police Department No. 3 of the Odesa District Police Department No. 2. Investigators have entered information into the Unified Register of Pre-Trial Investigations under part 2 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, concerning violations of road safety rules that resulted in the death of the victim.
A series of expert evaluations will be conducted as part of the proceedings to establish the full circumstances of the accident.
