The sports club for individuals with disabilities, «Odessa-Basket», led by Vasyl Rybak, a candidate of medical sciences and head of the rehabilitation service, participated in the Ukrainian billiards championship for men and women with mobility impairments, veterans of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and their families.

The tournament took place from October 11 to 13, 2024, in Kyiv at the National University of Physical Education and Sports of Ukraine.

On the first day of the tournament, Serhii Kotsiuba, a veteran of the Russo-Ukrainian war, secured first place in the overall ranking.

On the following day, Serhii Kotsiuba achieved victory in the Ukrainian billiards championship. The third place in the team ranking was shared by fellow Odessites, Dmytro Danilov and Valerii Chuhuev.

«The experience of the «Odessa-Basket» club, with the continuous support of the Odessa city authorities, is a powerful example of rehabilitating servicemen and veterans through adaptive sports,» emphasized Vasyl Rybak.

A new department has been established within the Department of Health of the Odessa City Council to coordinate rehabilitation assistance for quick and effective recovery in Odessa's medical institutions. The head of the department, leading rehabilitation specialist Vasyl Rybak, personally meets with veterans weekly and coordinates multidisciplinary rehabilitation teams across the city.
