Urban Greening Efforts in Odesa for 2026
In 2026, Odesa continues its urban greening efforts with the planting of 129 new trees.
On December 5, 2024, Odesa will host a significant conference titled «Accessibility for All».
The aim of the event is to unite the efforts of local authorities and businesses to foster a barrier-free environment in the tourism and hospitality industries.
This pressing issue has been identified by the National Tourism Organization of Ukraine as a key focus for 2024. Despite the challenges posed by the war, Odesa continues to welcome both domestic and international tourists, making it crucial to address infrastructure accessibility and inclusivity in tourism.
The conference will feature a special guest, Oleksandr Budko (call sign Teren), a veteran of the Russian-Ukrainian war, public figure, athlete, and author. He lost both of his limbs during the 2022 counteroffensive, yet he remains actively engaged in advocating for inclusion and veteran support. Oleksandr is a medalist of the «Invictus Games - 2023» in swimming and the author of the autobiographical novel «The Story of a Stubborn Man».
We invite representatives from hotels, restaurants, museums, theaters, healthcare facilities, tour guides, and anyone interested in developing an inclusive environment to participate.
