Unity and Honor: Celebrating Constitution Day in Ukraine

In his address on Constitution Day, President Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized that the current social contract is that Ukraine comes first. He also held an award ceremony at St. Sophia Square.

Direct quote: "Ukraine is millions of names we are proud of. Ukraine is the choice our people make every day. It is millions of actions and deeds that together form Ukraine. Our social contract is that Ukraine comes first; Ukrainians represent our independence, our rights, our dreams – all of the people come first".

Details: Zelensky also thanked all nations of the civilized world for their unity around Ukraine and mentioned Polish President Andrzej Duda, who attended the ceremony.

At St. Sophia Square, the president presented the highest state awards.

In particular, he awarded the "Golden Star" orders posthumously to the families of fallen Heroes of Ukraine: soldier Ostap Makarov, colonel Viktor Polyvianyi, senior lieutenant Mykola Skydan, journalist, volunteer, and paramedic Iryna Tsybukh.

Additionally, two Heroes of Ukraine received the highest award in person: junior lieutenant Petro Gerasimovych and junior sergeant Oleksandr Ivantsov.
