In Odesa, a tribute was paid to the heroes on the occasion of the 34th anniversary of Ukraine's Independence. On August 24, a solemn ceremony was held to honor those who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of our nation.

The ceremony at the Memorial to Fighters for Ukraine was attended by representatives of the city and regional authorities, community organizations, military personnel, veterans, clergy, and local residents. Attendees observed a moment of silence to honor the fallen and expressed gratitude to all those who continue to defend Ukraine.

As part of the national holiday, state awards were presented for significant contributions to the struggle for independence and the defense of the country. The President of Ukraine awarded the title «For the Defense of Ukraine» to Petrovych Senyak, an excavator operator of the Municipal Enterprise «City Roads», who has actively participated in the construction of fortifications in the eastern region.
