Equine Therapy for Veterans: A New Path to Healing

In Odessa, the first equine therapy session aimed at supporting veterans and individuals with disabilities who served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine took place.

This event marks a significant step forward in veteran recovery.

Equine therapy is a unique rehabilitation method that combines physical activity, interaction with nature, and emotional healing. Sessions with horses help reduce stress and fatigue, enhancing emotional well-being.

For participants, this session provided not only valuable engagement but also a chance to feel a sense of trust and mutual support.

Such practices assist veterans in uncovering inner resources that often remain hidden but are always present within.

«This is more than just exercise. It's a journey to self-discovery. A horse can sense a person's emotions, even when they themselves are not fully aware of them», participants shared.

The event was organized by the Department of Physical Culture and Sports of the Odessa City Council in collaboration with the CU «Service Office «Veteran Hub».
