Deputy Minister Visits Odesa Clinical Hospital
The Deputy Minister of Health of Ukraine visited the newly opened cardiology department in Odesa.
On September 12, 2025, a large-scale cleanup event took place on the shores of Kuyalnik Lagoon, organized by the National Nature Park "Kuyalnik", the NGO GoGlobalUA, and the Black Sea Salt Factory.
The aim of the event was to raise awareness of the critical condition of the lagoon and to initiate practical actions for its rescue.
Due to prolonged drought and heat, the water level in the lagoon has dropped by nearly a third. A dense layer of salt has formed on the bottom and shores, threatening the ecosystem and the healing properties of the mud. The salinity of the water has been recorded at over 300 parts per thousand, which is significantly above the norm. This situation is a serious alarm for the entire region.
More than a hundred volunteers, equipped with shovels and sieves, manually collected a substantial amount of excess salt from the shores. This action became a symbol of what can be achieved through collective efforts.
Participants enjoyed not only work but also delicious food: pilaf, fish soup, and gingerbread made from spelt flour, honey, and ginger, with a touch of Kuyalnik salt. Each gingerbread had a symbolic mark highlighting the uniqueness of the moment.
During the event, the organizers prepared and sent an open letter to the President and the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, calling for:
Kuyalnik Lagoon is a treasure that must be preserved for future generations. Together, we can restore life to this natural gem of Odesa!
