Energy Support for Odesa
Odesa has received new generators as part of international assistance to enhance its energy infrastructure.
Odesa is launching a new project to upgrade its trams, equipping «Tatra» model cars with lifts.
The first tram with the new equipment is already operating on route No. 15. By the end of the year, two more trams are set to be upgraded, utilizing a proprietary technology developed by the specialists at KP «OMET», which is currently undergoing patenting.
Mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov stated that attending the InnTrans exhibition in Berlin helped find effective solutions for transportation issues faced by post-Soviet countries.
The «Tatra» trams are considered one of the best Czech models, still in use even in Prague after modernization. The inclusive designs by Odesa engineers allow these cars to meet contemporary standards for transporting individuals with disabilities.
Prior to the upgrades, discussions were held with key users of the lift mechanism, including veterans, representatives of mobility-impaired groups, and individuals in wheelchairs.
Participants in the meeting noted that the new mechanism is both convenient and reliable. Series installation of lifts on modernized trams will begin at the KP «OMET» workshops.
