More than 400 rescuers from the Odesa region have been honored with state medals and special titles in recognition of their professional holiday. The Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Odesa highlighted the importance of this event as a recognition of the dangerous work performed by rescuers and their courage and professionalism. These awards symbolize gratitude from the state and society to those who risk their lives to save others.
According to the State Emergency Service of Odesa, the ceremonial awarding took place ahead of the professional holiday for civil protection workers in Ukraine. The awards were presented to not only rescuers but also firefighters and other specialists ensuring public safety during emergencies.
"In wartime, the work of rescuers has become even more dangerous and critically important. Every day, they save people from rubble, extinguish fires caused by missile strikes, and mitigate the consequences of attacks on critical infrastructure," stated the State Emergency Service.
State awards and special titles were given to those who demonstrated courage and professionalism while fulfilling their duties under challenging wartime conditions. This recognition acknowledges their contribution to ensuring the safety of the civilian population.
