New Collaboration on Fire Safety Along the Danube

On September 19, in the city of Tulcea (Romania), the inaugural conference for the project "Enhancing Cross-Border Cooperation in Fire Safety along the Danube – FIPRO RO-UA" (ROUA00095) took place.
The Ukrainian delegation was led by Major General Denys Platonov, head of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Odesa region.

The delegation included experts responsible for the project's implementation.
During the conference, the Ukrainian side presented the planned activities of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Odesa region related to the project "Enhancing Cross-Border Cooperation in Fire Safety along the Danube – FIPRO RO-UA" (ROUA00095). In particular, intervention vehicles were showcased that are to be purchased under the project, including one specialized truck and two cars.
This equipment is crucial for operational monitoring in the areas serviced by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Odesa region, especially in Ismail, Reni, Kiliya, and Vilkove. In case of simultaneous emergencies in multiple locations, the service must be able to monitor the situation and deploy resources quickly.
The acquisition of new equipment will significantly enhance the readiness and mobility of response units to tackle fires in hard-to-reach areas near the Romanian border.
Also participating in the conference were representatives from the "Delta" Inspectorate for Emergency Situations in Tulcea County, who are key partners in this project.
The project "Enhancing Cross-Border Cooperation in Fire Safety along the Danube – FIPRO RO-UA" (ROUA00095) aims to improve fire response effectiveness in the border regions of Ukraine and Romania. The implementation of joint initiatives will strengthen the technical capabilities of emergency units and facilitate experience exchange.
