Odesa Takes Center Stage in Hamburg: A Festival to Remember

Hamburg experienced the magic of Odessa: the Odesa-Tage in Hamburg festival left a lasting impression!

From September 14 to 17, 2025, Hamburg was enveloped in the charm of Odesa's culture for the very first time, and it was truly unforgettable.

Organized by Irina Timakh and her initiative Culture in Action, the festival attracted thousands of fans and gifted the city three vibrant evenings.

The first evening was filled with jazz, pop music, and the light-hearted spirit of Odesa humor — the atmosphere was warm, and the hall was packed with guests.

The second day — a charity concert at Hamburg-Haus Eimsbüttel — became a musical journey ranging from Ukrainian classics to European masterpieces. The talented pianist Julia Zekler, alongside musicians, crafted a stunning concert that moved the audience.

The third day concluded with an immersive performance titled “Neighbors,” which became the true highlight of Odesa-Tage. Guests felt transported to an Odessa courtyard: jokes, laughter, delicious dishes, and warm embraces created a unique space where Hamburg felt the heart of Odessa. French actors Oleg Savchenko and Ksenia Rudkovskaya added a special charm to the show.

The festival received numerous positive reviews: attendees noted the sincerity of the atmosphere, the high quality of the program, and the distinctive Odessa flair. Odessa-Tage showcased how art can unite cities and cultures, and served as a shining example of mutual support between Hamburg and Odessa.

Irina Timakh, the festival organizer, stated:

«We aimed not just to showcase Odesa — we wanted Hamburg to feel it. And we succeeded: laughter, music, and neighborly conversations came alive here in northern Germany. Thank you to all our partners, volunteers, and audiences for this incredible journey!»

Odesa-Tage in Hamburg marked a significant step in strengthening cultural bridges between the two port cities, proving that art is a language understood by all.

The events were part of the celebrations for Odesa City Day.
