Drone Attack on Energy Infrastructure in Odesa
A drone attack in the Odesa region caused a fire at an energy infrastructure site, resulting in injuries to a worker.
In the Odesa region, DTEK employees were honored by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Chornomorsk City Council. The awards were presented for their contributions to restoring electricity supply in the midst of military conflict.
According to the press service of DTEK Odesa Electric Networks, chief specialist Vitaliy Shestun received a certificate from the Cabinet for ensuring the stable operation of the energy infrastructure during wartime.
Nine other specialists were also awarded certificates from the Chornomorsk City Council for their efforts in restoring electricity after an attack that occurred on the night of August 30-31. At that time, over 30,000 households and critical infrastructure facilities lost power. Within three days, the energy workers managed to restore electricity.
The Chornomorsk community has faced attacks before, but the consequences of the latest assault were particularly severe. However, thanks to the professionalism of our energy workers, power was restored in just a few days. "Light will always overcome darkness," emphasized Vasyl Huliaiev, head of the community.
Those recognized include Dmytro Vasyliev, Vitaliy Bielov, Oleksiy Kurienkov, Oleksandr Ropotan, Oleg Danishevskyi, Valery Solodovnikov, Oleksiy Nepomyshchyi, Pavlo Tikhonchyk, and Vadym Yakubovskyi.
It is worth noting that in March, 87 employees of DTEK Odessa Electric Networks also received certificates from local authorities for their quick restoration of electricity in Odesa and the Odessa region after shelling.
