On October 16, 2025, a workshop titled “Mental Health — A Vital Resource for Life” was held in Odesa. The event was organized by the Odesa City Health Department and the Family Medicine Association of the Odesa Region in honor of World Mental Health Day.

This year, Odesa's medical facilities have provided over 35,000 mental health and psychological support services to adults and children, including internally displaced persons and military personnel.

There are 16 psychological offices operating in the city, and two integrated response centers have been established based on the Primary Health Care Centers in the Kyiv and Peresyp districts. These centers feature interdisciplinary teams consisting of coordinators, psychologists, child psychologists, social workers, and legal advisors, providing comprehensive support to individuals in crisis, particularly those affected by war and gender-based violence.

Notably, the Mental Health Center located at City Clinical Hospital No. 10 has become a crucial hub for specialized assistance, where patients can receive psychological consultations, psychiatric support, rehabilitation services, and individual as well as group psychotherapy programs.

An additional Mental Health Center will be opened based on the cluster hospital at MCL No. 1 as part of a collaboration with the French Development Agency (AFD). Currently, renovation work is underway at the Jewish Hospital building.

Psychological assistance in Odesa's medical facilities is provided free of charge under the nationwide mental health program “How Are You?”. Anyone interested can reach out to qualified specialists for psychological support.

The City Health Department pays particular attention to the mental health and emotional well-being of healthcare workers, organizing burnout prevention training and creating opportunities for individual consultations and support groups.
