The Bulgarian Culture Week in Odesa concluded with a vibrant concert on November 1st, coinciding with the Day of National Awakening. This holiday symbolizes the unity of the Bulgarian nation, regardless of where they reside.
The Consul General of the Republic of Bulgaria delivered a welcoming speech and presented Awards for contributions to the development of Bulgarian culture.
“During the festival, we had the opportunity to immerse ourselves in the richness of Bulgarian heritage — music, literature, and folk art. These events vividly demonstrate our cultural unity and the intertwining of our histories and traditions. Bulgaria has made a significant contribution to the development of Odesa, and the Bulgarian community remains an integral part of our society,” emphasized acting Mayor of Odesa Igor Koval.
On stage, the legendary folk singer and composer from the Macedonian region, Iliya Lukov, performed, renowned for his initiatives supporting Bulgarian identity both in Bulgaria and abroad.
Folk ensembles from Odesa also took the stage, sharing warmth, sincerity, and the richness of Ukrainian-Bulgarian cultural connections with the audience.
