Palliative Care for Children in Odesa

In Odesa, there is a specialized unit for children that provides palliative care, where young patients with serious illnesses receive essential medical support.

The youngest child in the unit is just 1 year and 3 months old, while the oldest is 15 years. Most of the children have congenital nervous system disorders, including cerebral palsy.

The unit is equipped with modern medical equipment purchased with municipal budget funds and support from benefactors.

Children receive free treatment, specialized nutritional support, and are in comfortable conditions under the attentive care of medical staff.

In addition to palliative care, the children's home provides opportunities for medical rehabilitation for its young patients.

This week, the facility was visited by representatives from the Kyiv District Administration, Compassion Medical from the USA, and the church of Evangelical Christians-Baptists “House of Prayer” to discuss current needs.

They reached an agreement to assist in acquiring medical equipment that will significantly enhance the care of the children and ease the workload of the staff.
