Specifically, the officers emphasized the rules of the road: how to safely cross streets, use reflective elements at night, properly behave near traffic, and during rides on bicycles or scooters. Children had the opportunity to act as traffic regulators and discussed various life situations to reinforce their knowledge.
Additionally, the police held a conversation about violence prevention, explaining to children the types of physical, psychological, economic, and sexual violence, providing real-life examples, and stressing that any form of aggression or humiliation is not acceptable. The children learned where to seek help – from parents, teachers, police officers, or national hotlines, and received brochures with advice and contact information for relevant services.
Attention was also drawn to online threats. Children were informed about types of online fraud, the dangers of communicating with strangers, how to recognize suspicious messages, and safe internet usage rules. They were reminded about what to do during air raid alerts and the importance of adhering to safety measures.
In connection with the Day of Dignity and Freedom, celebrated on November 21, the police discussed national values with the children, watched a thematic video, and recalled the state symbols of Ukraine. The students made a Ukrainian flag by hand and lit a candle in memory of those who sacrificed their lives.
In conclusion, the police urged the children to be responsible, take care of their safety, respect the rights of others, love their homeland, and value national treasures.
