The border guards of the Izmail unit were honored with prestigious church medals for their dedication and courage in serving Ukraine. This was reported by the press service of the Southern Regional Department of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.
The honorable medals of Saint George the Victorious were awarded to soldiers of the rapid response border command of the Izmail unit.
With the blessing of His Beatitude the Metropolitan of Kyiv and all Ukraine, military chaplain Hieromonk Makary held a ceremony at the Church of Saint Volodymyr in Izmail. He presented the awards to soldiers who demonstrated bravery and devotion in defending Ukraine.
«The medal of Saint George the Victorious is a spiritual symbol of support, prayer, and blessing. Accept these awards with gratitude for your resilience, courage, and self-sacrifice. May the Lord protect you in your service and grant you strength to overcome all challenges,» the chaplain addressed the servicemen.
