Support for Veterans in Odesa: New Initiatives
An overview of new initiatives for supporting veterans in Odesa, including rehabilitation programs and social integration.
A new initiative called «Start in IT» has been launched in Ukraine to train IT specialists with government support.
By the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated 24.06.2022 No. 737, the implementation of an experimental project for training in the field of information technology «Start in IT» has been approved.
Grant Conditions – graduates of the program must secure employment in their new qualification within 30 days under the following terms:
- employment contract or gig contract;
- civil law contract for work performance;
- register as an individual entrepreneur or engage in independent professional activity.
Who can participate in the «Start in IT» program?
The program is designed for citizens of Ukraine (p.p.5, 9 of the Order) who:
- are on leave;
- have suspended employment contracts;
- have been granted unpaid leave;
- are internally displaced persons of working age;
- registered unemployed with the right to social services for vocational training.
Who cannot participate in the «Start in IT» program?
The program does not apply to individuals (p.5 of the Order) who:
- lack professional education;
- have less than 18 months of work experience;
- have specialized in IT or have experience working in the industry.
How to obtain a grant (certificate) for IT training?
The certificate is generated electronically on the "DiiA Portal" after the Employment Center reviews the documents. To obtain the certificate, one must submit an electronic application on the "DiiA Portal" that includes:
- application;
- resume in the approved format;
- confirmation of the educational institution's readiness to train the individual;
- copy of the work record book or data on insurance experience;
- copy of the educational document (if available);
- documents confirming eligibility for the program.
The certificate is valid for 10 working days from the date of issuance, during which the individual must conclude a contract with an educational institution.
The list of educational institutions and programs available for training under the certificate is approved by the Ministry of Digital Transformation.
The main goal of the experiment is to ensure citizens' right to work and facilitate employment.
