New Initiatives Against Violence in Ukraine

Every year, from November 25 to December 10, Ukraine hosts the campaign «16 Days Against Violence».

The initiative aims to raise awareness among youth about the issues of domestic violence, human trafficking, and women's rights. Various themed events will take place in Odessa for students.

Throughout November and December, young residents of Odessa will participate in activities for the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, including an amateur video contest and a Facebook flash mob themed «A person begins with kindness».

Schools will host thematic educational hours titled «Together Against Violence», exhibitions of children's drawings and photo works named «#HappуFamilyinOdessa», as well as workshops, trainings, interactive games, and film viewings.

For members of the high school parliament in Odessa, interactive games will be organized to promote a safe environment and collaboration between youth and police.

During the «16 Days Against Violence» campaign, the results of the competition «How I Understand Gender» will also be announced.

Teachers will have the opportunity to attend meetings of a psychological film club to discuss relevant films, as well as learn the «Circle of Safety» methods through seminars and workshops.

Specialists from the psychological service will discuss the prevention of domestic violence and bullying in schools during training sessions.

With the participation of representatives from state and public organizations, informational sessions for parents, lectures, and consultations titled «Family – A Space Without Violence» will be held.
