Vadim Naumenko Advances at World Swimming Championships

At the ongoing World Swimming Championships in Budapest, Vadim Naumenko, a student of the Olympic Reserve Sports School «Dynamo», has successfully advanced to the semifinals.

In the qualifying round for the 200-meter individual medley, he achieved an impressive time of 1:55.35 minutes, breaking the national record.

Trained by Oleksandra Kurbanova and Vadim Penyazenko, Vadim surpassed his previous record set at the European Championships in Romania in 2023.

Today, the 21-year-old swimmer from Odesa completed the 100-meter individual medley in 53.07 seconds, marking the 14th best time overall and securing his place among the 16 semifinalists.

Additionally, he broke the national record previously held by Oleg Lisogor, which was set on December 11, 2005, at the European Championships in Trieste, Italy.

The semifinal will take place today, December 12, in the evening.
