In Odesa, adaptive sports are being actively developed as part of a comprehensive rehabilitation system for Ukrainian veterans.

With the involvement of public and sports organizations that assist individuals with disabilities, various sports disciplines are being integrated into the rehabilitation program, including wheelchair basketball, table tennis, billiards, golf, swimming, diving, and boxing.

Engaging in sports and integrating into the athletic community help veterans adapt to societal life.

For instance, Ukrainian veterans Dmytro Danilov, Serhiy Kotsyuba, and Valerii Chuhuiev are competing as part of the national billiards team at the WPA Heyball Parasport World Championship - 2024 in Los Angeles.

The participation and training of Odesa athletes have been made possible by the support of the Rehabilitation Department of the Odesa City Council's Health Department.
