Lighting Restoration in Odessa
The Odessa City Light Company has completed restoration work on the external lighting network in the city.
On December 21, 2024, the heart of Ukrainian athlete and participant of the 1980 Summer Olympics, Serhiy Olizarenko, will stop beating.
At the 1980 Olympics, Serhiy competed in the 3000 meters steeplechase, where he secured 3rd place in the semifinals with a time of 8:34.2, but unfortunately could not participate in the final due to an Achilles tendon injury.
He was married to Olympic champion Nadia Olizarenko.
The Odesa City Council and the sports community of Odesa express their heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Serhiy Olizarenko in this time of loss.
The farewell ceremony for Serhiy Olizarenko will take place on December 21, 2024: at 10:30 – a service at the Holy Assumption Cathedral (70 Preobrazhenska St.), at 12:00 – cremation at the Tairov Cemetery.
