Ukrainian Youth Judo Championship in Uzhhorod

The Ukrainian Youth Judo Championship for athletes under 17 took place on November 22-23 in Uzhhorod.

During these two days, nearly 600 competitors from 23 regions of Ukraine fought on the mats of the Uzhhorod Scientific Lyceum sports complex, competing for 17 sets of medals.

The team from Odesa, which included athletes from Sports Schools No. 4 and No. 15, as well as the regional Judo and Rugby School, secured third place with 3 gold, 2 silver, and 2 bronze medals.

The winners of the championship were representatives from Kyiv (5-4-4), while the Dnipropetrovsk team took second place (3-1-5).

Contributing to the team’s success were Odesa athletes Valeria Kanikivska (70 kg) and Kyrylo Vasylinych (73 kg), who won silver and bronze medals respectively.

The athletes were coached by Serhiy Yermakov.
