Celebration in Odesa: Honoring Sky Defenders
A special event in Odesa honored the Day of the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, where music and dance expressed gratitude.
The Ukrainian championship for juniors in synchronised swimming was held in Kyiv from November 15 to 18, featuring 65 athletes from various regions, including Kyiv, Odesa, Mykolaiv, and Donetsk.
The Odesa region was represented by athletes from the Specialized Children and Youth Sports School of Olympic Reserve "Chornomorets" and the Odesa Regional Comprehensive Sports School.
In the technical solo event for juniors, Odessa's Vladyslava Kacherba claimed first place. In the duet events, both technical and free, the team of Sofiya Sarukhanyan and Taisiia Pochepynska won third place.
In the group events, the Odesa team consisting of Vladyslava Kacherba, Sofiya Sarukhanyan, Yelyzaveta Siedova, Taisiia Pochepynska, Mariia Borysova, Anastasiia Borysova, Yeva Haval’ko, Sofiya Dronova, Oleksandra Futorna, and Olena Aliievska earned silver medals in both technical and free programs, as well as bronze in acrobatic group competitions.
In the technical solo event for boys and girls, Sofiya Sarukhanyan emerged as the champion. The duet team of Sofiya Sarukhanyan and Yelyzaveta Siedova also secured first place.
Additionally, the Odesa team including Yelyzaveta Siedova, Mariia Borysova, Anastasiia Borysova, Yeva Haval’ko, Sofiya Dronova, Oleksandra Futorna, and Olena Aliievska won gold medals in the combined group events.
The athletes were trained by coaches Olha Nikolaychuk and Svitlana Pershina.
