From November 3 to 11, the village of Boyany in the Chernivtsi region hosted the Ukrainian boxing championship for boys and girls born in 2011-2012. A total of 370 young athletes from 22 regions of Ukraine participated in the event.

Representing Odessa were promising boxers: Oleksandr Shchupak from the Comprehensive Children's and Youth Sports School No. 8 and Ismail Ismaylov from the boxing club «Livsha».

In the 80 kg category, Oleksandr Shchupak triumphed with three victories in matches, becoming the Ukrainian champion among boys. He was coached by Vladimir Osipchuk and Igor Hordienko.

In the 54 kg category, Ismail Ismaylov secured three victories and the gold medal. His coaches were honored trainers of Ukraine Nureddin Alibeyli and Azer Mustafaev.

In the overall team standings among boys, the team from the Odessa region also claimed victory. The winners will be included in the reserve for the national boxing team of Ukraine.
