Odessa is actively promoting adaptive sports as a crucial part of the rehabilitation system for veterans of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Since the beginning of 2024, the sports club for persons with disabilities, “Odessa Basket”, has organized and conducted over 150 training sessions in adaptive sports, including:
- sports billiards – 66 sessions;
- wheelchair basketball – 30 sessions;
- golf – 30 sessions;
- swimming – 15 sessions;
- table tennis – 12 sessions;
- diving – 3 sessions;
- boxing – 3 sessions.

During this period, 72 veterans have completed the rehabilitation program through sports.

A department for coordinating rehabilitation assistance has been established within the Odessa City Council's Health Department, aimed at facilitating the rehabilitation process in medical facilities and encouraging veterans to engage in adaptive sports.
