Celebrating Odessa Day in Brazil
Nova Odessa in Brazil celebrated Odessa Day, highlighting the cultural connections between Ukraine and Brazil.
On October 19, 2024, the third stage of the national cross country competition was held in Victory Park. Athletes competed in 12 age categories, including boys, girls, juniors, and youth, across distances of 1, 3, 4, 6, and 8 km.
More than 60 qualified athletes from various regions of Ukraine participated, including participants from Odessa.
In the 1 km distance, the top times were recorded by Odessa athletes Yelyzaveta Sheremeta (4:29) and Andriy Zasnov (4:55).
In the 3 km race, Ksenia Danyliuk (19:54) and Vyacheslav Balashov (14:00) emerged victorious.
Vladimir Peresunko achieved the best result in the 4 km race with a time of 29:48.
In the 6 km distance, Hanna Hilyanchuk finished second behind an athlete from Chernihiv, while Roman Stoyanov took first place in the 8 km race with a result of 30:19.
Based on the results of all four stages, the national team for the European Championship, scheduled for December 8 in Turkey, will be determined.
The event was organized by the Ukrainian Athletics Federation in collaboration with the public organization SEASIDE RUNNERS ODS with the support of the Odessa City Council.
