Ukrainian player Dayana Yastremska has successfully navigated the second round of the Roland Garros tennis tournament, currently taking place in Paris.

She kicked off her campaign at Roland Garros against Australian player Destanee Aiava, who received a wild card entry. The competition was fierce only in the first set, and ultimately, Dayana claimed victory with a score of 7:5, 6:1.

The best performance by the athlete at the French Open was reaching the third round, which she accomplished last year.

In the 1/32 finals, the Odessa tennis player faced off against the world number 12, Russian Diana Shnaider, winning 7:5, 7:5. Yastremska managed to secure victory in both sets. The match lasted for 1 hour and 51 minutes. This was their second encounter, and Dayana was able to avenge her previous loss and equalize the series.

In the next round, the Odessa player will again compete against a Russian, Lyudmila Samsonova.
