Alina Komashchuk: Silver Medal at the European Fencing Championship

Olympic champion from Odesa, Alina Komashchuk, has achieved her first personal medal at the European Fencing Championship, winning silver during the competition held in Genoa, Italy.

This was confirmed by the Fencing Federation of Ukraine.

On June 15, Alina Komashchuk once again amazed everyone by winning a silver medal at the European Fencing Championship in the Italian city of Genoa.

In the final of the women's sabre event, she lost to the reigning European champion from France, Sara Nuchi, with a score of 6:15.

On her way to the final, the Ukrainian athlete showcased remarkable skill: she confidently defeated Italian fencer Mariella Viale, a medalist from junior world and European championships, and in the semifinals, she triumphed over the strong Polish sabreur Sylvia Matuszak.

This silver medal is historic for Komashchuk, as she had previously stood on the podium at European Championships as part of the team but had never achieved such a personal accomplishment.
