Psychological Support for Children Amid War

The ongoing conflict has created significant stress for everyone involved in the educational process. In these circumstances, the role of teachers becomes crucial, as they can provide initial psychological support to children.

On July 16, 2025, a presentation of the inclusive educational project «Alphabet of Empathy» took place in Odesa at the «European» lyceum for educators from municipal educational institutions.

The aim of the «Alphabet of Empathy» project is to dismantle barriers and stereotypes regarding people with disabilities, while fostering empathetic thinking and respect for diverse human experiences among children.

During the seminar, participants had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with educational materials, engage in discussions, and share their experiences.

As part of the project, teachers will be able to take free online training sessions and receive an international certificate. Educational institutions will be provided with the «Alphabet of Empathy» books and methodological guides for educators.

Key details of the program include sessions designed for children aged 5 to 10 years, which can be conducted in regular classes; the program is approved by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.

The project is being implemented in Odesa by the Chepchynski family foundation from Poland in collaboration with the Direct Relief charity organization and other partners.
